Custom Training

Our customer has a small DBA team managing a number of SQL Server 2000 and Oracle servers, these engineers had attended a number of Microsoft training courses. The DBAs found this training useful, although still left them wanting more to build their skills profile and experience necessary to support the environment with confidence. The customer was about to embark on an aggressive SQL Server 2005 deployment and with increasing reliance on their database platform - wanted to build skills and experience ahead of go-live to ensure smooth transition.

We undertook a series of mentoring sessions whereby the customers’ environment was reproduced within a classroom environment and deep-dive fault analysis and hands-on troubleshooting training was provided.

During the training program the support engineers gained knowledge and confidence in the support tools and resources available, including System Monitor, SQL Server Profiler and useful DMVs. The training experience was valuable to the engineers because it built relevant skills that were immediately useful in their normal day job.
