Data Platform Senior Engineer

Sam Gooderham is a Data Platform Engineer in Coeo’s Managed Services team. Sam has been supporting Coeo’s clients since 2021, specialising in cloud analytics solutions.

As a Senior Engineer in the Managed Services, I monitor, resolve, improve and develop customer environments. I mostly Focus on Analytics technologies, anything from Azure Data Factory to PowerBI, but cover platform solutions too. With a Mathematics Masters degree, I will never stop trying to solve problems or puzzles, a good trait for a Managed Services Engineer.

I’m an experienced software developer and architect in varying market sectors from line of business web applications to computationally intensive financial risk assessment models. I specialise in designing and building reliable software on the Microsoft stack, both on-premises and in Azure. I have been designing and building the IP for Coeo, including Velox, and the Client Portal.

I have over 20 years of experience in IT, comprising of pre-sales, consulting, architecting, and end-to-end implementation of BIDW project experience in a wide variety of industry sectors. I have provided strategic Information Management road maps, proven expertise in Data Governance, and Master Data Management Solutions. I have managed projects and global high-performing teams, worked extensively in pre-sales, including producing responses to RFP and RFI’s for global projects.

As Head of Technical Strategy, I am responsible for the delivery of Data and AI engagements to our clients, managing a team of Architects, Project managers, Data engineers, BI developers, Platform engineers, and Consultants. I specialise in the Microsoft analytics stack, both on-premises and in Azure helping our clients meet their data and AI requirements.

I’m a sales leader at Coeo, my time is spent developing the capability of our New Business sales team. I get energy from building high-performing teams and enjoy supporting the sellers in my team to create solutions that deliver real business impact. Before joining Coeo, I worked for a Managed Service Provider, and for Microsoft.

I am the Chief Technology Officer at Coeo. I have extensive experience within the software industry, and before joining Coeo had 15 years of experience working as a programmer, system architect, head of technology, and consultant. I have worked for many clients in Retail, Re-Insurance, and Professional Services. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling and I’m an armchair Formula 1 fan.

As Chief Operating Office, I lead the delivery teams at Coeo. I have over 16 years of experience leading high-performing analytic teams at Edenbrook, Hitachi Consulting, and Hitachi Vantara, most recently as the Vice President of Analytics for Hitachi Vantara in EMEA where I was responsible for the profitability and growth of a multimillion-dollar business.

I am Chief Executive and co-founder at Coeo. We help our clients get the best from their data and their investment in the Microsoft cloud platform.  My role involves helping our clients with strategic technology choices and roadmaps. I work with our clients to provide expertise to reduce risk and accelerate project delivery and ensure true business value is realised early and maximised through operational capability. I live in London and enjoy leisure time with my family on long river walks, bike rides and I love traveling and sailing.
